We are proud to announce that Aerosaurus Balloons has now been shortlisted for the ‘Best Tourism Activity, Sport & Experience of the Year’ in the recent ‘South West Tourism Awards 2011/2012’. As with the recent Devon Tourism Awards, we came up against some tough competition, although at this stage we do not know the other finalists in our category.
The South West has long been considered one of the UK’s leading tourist destinations due to its’ diverse tourism industry, beautiful natural landscapes and stunning coastline. Therefore it comes as no surprise that many previous winners of these awards have gone on to win the ‘National Visit England Awards’.
The South West Tourism Awards honour excellence and show appreciation for local businesses who “go the extra mile” to deliver an outstanding and innovative experience for customers. As such, they provide an ideal platform for local businesses to showcase their quality to both the media and customers. This year saw a record number of entries with over 300 businesses competing across 15 different categories.
The final winners will be announced at the awards ceremony which is set to take place on Monday 6th February 2012 in Torquay. The evening will be hosted by the BBC and Independent travel expert Mr Simon Calder and is set to be an entertaining night for those involved. Following the awards, all winners will be invited to enter the ‘National Visit England Awards’ set to take place later in the year.
