We are proud to announce that Aerosaurus Balloons has been shortlisted for ‘Best Tourism Activity, Sport & Experience of the Year’ in the ‘Devon Tourism Awards’ 2011. We are up against some tough competition this year, the other two nominations in our category being ‘The Arundell Arms Hotel & Restaurant’ which offers country sport holidays and ‘The Calvert Trust Outdoor Adventure Facility’ which offers a variety of outdoor activities on Exmoor.
The Devon Tourism Awards was launched in 2010 and proved to be a huge success. The awards honour excellence among local businesses and in particular, their impact on the local economy through promoting tourism in Devon. This year saw a record number of entries received and through a combination of scoring, mystery visits and web searches, these were reduced to a final shortlist of 27 businesses, all of which will receive either a Bronze, Silver or Gold award.
The final winners will be announced at the awards ceremony which is set to take place on 23rd November at Sandy Park, Exeter. Successful businesses in the Devon Tourism Awards will be fast-tracked into the ‘South West Tourism Excellence Awards’ in February 2012, with the possibility of making it through to the ‘National Visit England Awards’ later on in the year.
